About the role:

The Identity and Access Management organization within Takeda is looking for Directory Services Lead. The role is responsible for architecture, design and service delivery for Takeda’s on-premises Active Directory domains and related services, and Takeda’s Entra ID tenant. The position leads operations and infrastructure components, provides escalation support, coordinates 3rd level support according to ITIL processes and Takeda's SOPs. As part of the Identity and Access Management team, the role reports to the Head of Directory Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for architecture, design, and service delivery for Takeda's enterprise Active Directory, Entra ID, AWS managed AD and related directory services

  • Solves incidents/requests and operating level breaches, validates operating level reports

  • Highest level of technical support for Takeda Directory Services and Entra ID

  • Represents Directory Services team on pertinent P1 and P2 incident response calls and effort

  • Supports the IAM organization with strategy, design, planning, and deployment of IAM solutions and capabilities

  • Cultivates collaborative and growth-oriented culture in the Directory Services team and the Identity and Access Management organization

  • Engages with team members, peers, cross-team and cross-organizational stakeholders to deliver on organizational and Takeda’s mission and goals​

  • Contributes to growing the Directory Services & IAM brand across Takeda

  • Embodies continuous improvement mindset by identifying opportunities for improving service design, delivery, reliability, and security

  • Instills data-driven decision making, a "security" first mindset, and seamless end-user experience in the team and organization

  • Monitors and reports performance of managed Directory Services and Entra ID

  • Develops short-term/long-term plans and objectives for directory services and supported technologies

  • Drives efforts towards modernization of the Directory Services and improving overall security, reliability, and stability

  • Deploys new services or enhances existing capabilities following operations acceptance criteria and change management procedures.

  • Leads operations of infrastructure components, provides escalation support, coordinates 3rd level support according to ITIL processes and Takeda's SOPs.

  • Defines infrastructure service requirements and operations acceptance criteria for service development projects and external providers

  • Collaborates with counterparts from other functions, function groups and across regions. Ensures that service delivery in the function is monitored effectively and that identified actions to maintain or improve levels of service are implemented. Ensures that operational methods, procedures, facilities, and tools are established, reviewed, and maintained.

  • Performs impact analysis of changes to functional groups globally

  • Supports the Head of Directory Services in developing a vendor management process in collaboration with indirect procurement

  • Delivers solutions in accordance with Takeda system development life cycle, policies, and ITIL guidelines

  • Ensures services are delivered in accordance with all applicable compliance requirements, i.e. SOX, GxP including Audit life-cycle

  • Monitors the market to gain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and trends, proposes measures to either improve existing capabilities or introduce new ones, lobbies for organizational support, and procures and implements enhancements

  • Leads and oversees the consolidation of multiple legacy Active Directory domains

  • Supports Takeda’s digital estate transformation journey by eliminating digital debris and helps evolve the directory services space from traditional on-premises platform to a cloud-based identity and access management platform

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 10-+ years of IT work experience

  • 5+ years of architecture experience

  • Expert knowledge and enterprise-level Directory Services, DNS, KMS, Entra ID Connect, & Entra ID experience

  • Scripting and automation of directory services & Entra ID solutions and capabilities

  • Experience with deployment of technical capabilities adhering to Zero Trust guiding principles

  • Experience collaborating with managed service provider team members

  • Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner

  • Data Management – ability to utilize data collection, analysis, maintenance application and refinement methods to make fact-based decisions

  • Analytical skills – ability to analyze a wide variety of data and make appropriate decisions.

  • Management – ability to set priorities, develop workflow processes and manage staff

  • People Development – ability to assess strengths and weaknesses of staff members and provide suggestions for improvement to the line managers

  • Independently drive solutions and focus on results

  • Experience drafting/executing a Business Impact Analysis and Disaster Recovery Plans

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience

  • Worked in a Cyber Security Organization

  • Experience working in a regulated industry (i.e. SOX, GxP) including IQ/OQ

  • Project management experience

  • AWS/Azure/On-prem base infrastructure knowledge

  • Experience with agile project management to plan and execute organizational and team initiatives

  • Jira knowledge is a plus

  • DevOps is a plus
