Job Description

Job Title: Distribution Lead, EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER (UAE, KWT, LBN, Iran, Iraq, Libya) (Fixed Term- 6 Months)
Location: UAE, Dubai

About the role:

• Development and management of commercial infrastructure in Distributors in EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER : Lead and manage all aspects of Business Projects. Develop project initi-atives and plans based on identified business needs and use team resources as well as func-tional resources available to execute these.

• To lead discussions and participate in decision making in in Distributor Markets-EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER . Lead implementation of management decisions by means of Project Management, negotiation and contracting.

• Develop and implement brand strategies with Franchises and Marketing colleagues.

• Identify, develop and implement future growth opportunities within Distributors EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER .

• Constantly look for ways to improve sales efficiency while implementing tools to manage per-formance.

• Managing Distributors to ensure sales and marketing plans are in place and ensuring their plans and efforts are aligned with business opportunities . Negotiating amendments to exist-ing Distribution Contracts and / or engaging new Distributors as necessary.

• Financial Management: Effectively use financial planning and forecasting models in order to successfully implement business relevant strategies into daily operations and to work effec-tively with Takeda Supply Chain to ensure timely product availability to EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER  demand.

• Issue management: To identify issues early, determine and manage level of risk, communicate effectively internally, create a state of preparedness that enables rapid and effective action and effectively manage and leverage key external relationships to deliver a positive outcome.

• Compliance: Working with Legal, Compliance and Internal Audit functions, ensure business practices, SOPs and documentation is in full compliance with all appropriate internal and ex-ternal regulations.

How you will contribute:

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To assess the distributors and make necessary changes as per legal or business requirements.

• To grow and lead the One Takeda business including all 3rd Party Distributor relationships.

• To develop sustainable growth plan for Distributor Markets-EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER  as a start up structure and assess the new markets that can be penetrated.

• Create and implement road map linked to business strategy in the countries and in alignment with business direction.

• To manage, shape and leverage a positive internal and external environment in order to build and protect the business and reputation of Takeda and its brands.

• Annual Marketing Plans and that contractual obligations are in accordance with set objectives (e.g. sales targets, sales incentives, KPIs etc.); Lead the execution of the distributor plan in collaboration with Takeda’s distributors;

• Liaise with the key external stakeholders and to build successful, transparent and trustful relationships

• Be an interface between Commercial, Functions and Distributors

• Ensure that terms and conditions required by the Takeda’s functions are truly reflected in the distribution agreements and be responsible for the negotiation and management of these agreements in the assigned Region; in particular, identify opportunities to improve business terms and commercial margins;

• Liaise internally to provide remedy to problems occurring throughout the life of the partnership;

• Ensure compliance with internal timelines, metrics, and processes;

• Responsible for enforcing a culture of compliance as well as ownership to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Distributor Business in the assigned Region; in particular through the identification of best practices and standardization of terms across the distribution agreements whenever applicable.

• Initiate review, renegotiation and/or selection process for new distribution partners

• Demonstrated experience in growing and leading commercial business setup to deliver business results

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills (Distributors, Partners)

• Demonstrate the capacity for handling multiple projects in a clear, systematic way and the ability to manage risk and uncertainty in order to adapt within a changing and diverse environment

• Understanding of country market landscape, including deep understanding of competitor positions and product economics

• Good understanding of business and corporate principles

• Financial planning: budget process, profitability analysis, forecasting

• Ability to effectively present Takeda in front of various external audiences

• Dynamic, self-driven, solution-orientated personality

• Analytical skills, innovation and creativity

• Fluent in English language

• PC-literate (Word, Excel, Power Point etc)

• Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan

• Excellent influencing and negotiating skills

Experience and Education

• University degree in life sciences (biochemistry, biology, pharmacy, EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER dicine etc.) or an economics / business degree

• Demonstrated track record in a senior commercial role within Distributors management - EAST GULF & LEVANT CLUSTER  

• Experience of working with / contract negotiation and performance management of 3rd Party Distributor partners

• Significant experience working in Pharmaceutical / Biotech Sales and Marketing,

• Strong Ability to understand market trends, financial data, customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data.

•Strong knowledge of country pricing and reimbursement environment.

Complexity and Problem Solving

• Responsibility for all day to day decisions regarding Distributor Markets-ME, consistent with agreed global and UMEA strategies and within agreed operating expenses. Any deviation from strategy or spend beyond previously agreed levels must be agreed in advance with the line manager.

• Contractual terms of agreement with Partners and any changes to terms must be agreed in line with Takeda policies and the line manager.
